A LETTER OF LOVE
AN ELDERLY FRIEND OF MINE, BETTY TRANA, RECENTLY PASSED.  SHE HAD SUCH A LOVE AND KNACK FOR GROWING PLANTS, FLOWERS AND GARDEN PRODUCE.  EVERYTHING SHE TOUCHED BLOSSOMED BEAUTIFULLY, THUS GIVING HER THE NAME, "THE FLOWER LADY."

ONE DAY WHEN VISITING BETTY, I NOTICED A BEAUTIFUL AFTICAN VIOLET WITH MANY PURPLE FLOWERS AND BUDS.  I COMMENTED ON HOW I HAD SEVERAL

AFRICAN VIOLETS IN THE PAST, THEY ALWAYS DIED AFTER A SHORT TIME AND NEVER FLOWERED.
SOMETIME LATER, BETTY GAVE ME A NEW AFRICAL VIOLET SHE HAD PICKED UP SHOPPING.  APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER THE AFRICAN VIOLET BETTY HAD GIVEN ME LOOKED HEALTHY, WITH NICE LEAVES AND AN FEW BUDS BUT NOTHING EXCITING.  AT LEAST IT WAS STILL ALIVE.
ON A TUESDAY I NOTICED A BEAUTIFUL PURPLE FLOWER ON MY PLANT. I WAS SO EXCITED.  IN LOOKING MORE CLOSELY I NOTICED SEVERAL NEW BUDS.
WEDNESDAY, AFTER A TEN DAY ILLNESS, I LEARNED BETTY HAD DIED ON TUESDAY AS THE RESULT OF A STROKE.  IT WAS THE SAME DAY THE FIRST VIOLET FLOWER OPENED. IT BROUGHT A SMILE TO MY FACE AND I HAD SUCH A SENSE OF PEACE IN MY HEART.
OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, MY AFRICAN VIOLET FLOURISHED.  MANY PURLPLE FLOWERS AND NEW BUDS APPEARED EACH DAY.  EVERYTIME I LOOK AT MY AFRICAN VIOLET, I SMILE AND SAY, "THANK YOU, BETTY, FOR THE KINDNESS AND WISDOM YOU GAVE ME OVER THE YEARS AND FOR LETTING ME KNOW
 "ALL IS GOOD!"

JUST A THOUGHT. . .
I RECEIVED AN EMAIL EXPLAINING THE BAR CODE NUMBERS THAT ARE ON EVERYTHING WE BUY.  IF THEY START WITH A 690 THRU 692 THE PRODUCT IS MADE IN CHINA.
30 THRU 37 - MADE IN FRANCE
40 THRU 44 - GERMANY, 47 - TAIWAN
49 - JAPAN , 50 - UK.
SO BUY USA OR CANADIAN THEY START WITH 00 THRU 09.  MAYBE WE SHOULD START BAR CODING PEOPLE.  THEN WE COULD TELL THEIR INFORMATION WITH OUT EVEN ASKING.

HOW ABOUT USING THE AREA CODE FOR THE STATE LIKE I AM 701 BUT I WAS BORN IN 218.
MAYBE WE COULD TELL A LITTLE ABOUT THEM WITH A CODE NUMBER, EACH DEFINITION WOULD HAVE A LETTER AND NUMBER TO TELL YOU ABOUT THAT PERSON.   FOR INSTANCE, YOU WOULD BE GRADED ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 10 WITH LETTERS TO USE FOR DEFINITION.  FOR BEAUTY THE LETTER WOULD BE "BE".  FOR INTELLEGANCE THE LETTER WOULD BE "S". FOR SIZE OF THE PERSON THE LETTERS WOULD BE "OB" AND WOULD BE GRADED ON THE SIZE OF THEIR UNDERWARE.
I WOULD BE BE10 FOR MY BEAUTY.

I WOULD BE S10 FOR MY SMARTNESS.  I WOULD BE OB6.
SO IN OTHER WORDS MY NAME WOULDN'T BE JO ANYMORE, I WOULD BE "701218BE10S10OB6".
THAT WOULD BE A HECK OF A TATOO ON MY BACK SIDE.  KINDA SOUNDS LIKE A VIN NUMBER FROM A VEHICLE.  MAYBE FROM THIS NUMBER THEY COULD TELL WHAT PARTS I WOULD NEED IF I GOT BROKEN.  THAT MIGHT WORK.  MAYBE I COULD SEND MY IDEA TO SOMEONE IN WASHINGTON AND THEN I WOULD HAVE TO ADD EITHER R10 FOR MY RICHNESS OR M10 FOR MY MENTAL HOSPITAL ROOM NUMBER.

ENUF SAID, JO
BY THE WAY I'M AN ELMO

“CHARACTER COUNTS!”
Character Continues ...
The Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship.
***
The Caring Pillar by Dillon Jesz
What caring means to me. Caring to me is helping anyone who may be
struggling with something such as, groceries, or mowing someone’s lawn or lifting heavy equipment. Some examples to support this would be like a grandson or well-known kid of the neighborhood helping out someone who is maybe old and cant lift heavy objects or, injured and is unable to lift
heavy objects. Another example would be like if your buddy is struggling with a subject in school and you decide to help him work harder at it and stay focused in that subject so he or she can get their grade up. Just
simply volunteering to mow someone’s lawn for them or rake up their leaves is a good act of caring. The examples listed above are what caring means to me.
 ****
Dillon is a junior at Granville high School, is active in football, basketball, track, FFA, drama, band, and the CYO youth organization.  His parents are Darwin Jesz of Granville and Leslie Jesz of Kenmare.
Thank You Dillon!  Great Job!
