JUST A THOUGHT. . .
THE BRA COMMERCIALS REALLY MAKE ME LAUGH. DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD GO TO MALAN IN A 24 HOUR BRA? WELL IN MY OPINION, AFTER YOU HAVE WORN THAT BRA FOR 24 HOURS YOU PROBABLY WILL NEED A SHOWER AND A CLEAN BRA. THE WOMEN WHO WEAR THOSE PRETTY PANTIES ON TV, THEY ARE DANCING AROUND, AS THOUGH THE PANTIES ARE THE REASON. I BET THE REASON THEY ARE DANCING AROUND IS CAUSE THEY ARE GETTING PAID $10,000 PER MINUTE.
I WOULD DANCE AROUND IN MY PANTIES IF SOMEONE WOULD PAY ME $10,000 PER MINUTE. I DON'T THINK I WILL GET THE CHANCE TO SHOW MY TALENT IN DANCING CAUSE I REALLY DON'T THINK ANYONE WOULD EVER PAY ME FOR THAT. THEY WOULD PROBABLY PAY ME NOT TO DO IT. I WENT TO A BIRTHDAY PARTY ONCE WHERE THE "FRIENDS" OF THE BIRTHDAY GIRL HAD HIRED A STRIPPER TO DANCE FOR US.
AT THE SCHEDULED TIME THESE TWO GUYS WALK IN. ONE WAS TALL AND MUSCLED AND VERY GOOD LOOKING THE OTHER ONE KINDA RESEMBLED GILLIGAN. WE WERE GEARED UP TO SEE THE ONE GUY STRIP FOR US. GES WHICH ONE WAS THE STRIPPER – YUP, YOU WERE RIGHT – GILLIGAN! THAT WAS QUITE A DISAPPOINTMENT BUT WE PAID HIM TO QUIT AND THEY BOTH LEFT. WELL, THAT WAS INTERESTING.
GETTING BACK TO THE COMMERCIALS, WE WATCH THEM EVERYDAY AND SEE OUR FAVORITES. MY FAVORITE IS STILL THE LITTLE GIRL WHO SAYS, "I DON'T THINK I LIKE BROCCOLI!" THAT IS SO CUTE. MOM HAS A FIT ABOUT THE LITTLE GIRL WHO HITS HER MOM IN THE HEAD FOR NOT DRINKING A V-8. I GET THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO PROVE A POINT BUT WHY SHOW VIOLENCE. AND WHY SHOW A KID HITTING

THEIR MOTHER. ISN'T THERE ANOTHER WAY. MAYBE THE KID COULD DANCE AROUND IN THEIR PANTIES TO GET THEIR MOTHERS ATTENTION. OH YAH! THAT’S THAT OTHER COMMERCIAL.

THESE NEXT TWO STORIES WERE EMAILED TO ME AND I THOUGHT YOU WOULD ENJOY THEM. JO
Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their cames, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal! .
Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the little girl then asked him if he |

would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, he didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy.
Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When
this! Temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it. After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to
Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon."
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded.
As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, their were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.
We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority

of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that..
Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.
WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!!
THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED---- SO WEAR RED! --- MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD?
HAVE A GREAT DAY

You Might Not Ever Guess
Captain Kangaroo passed away on January 23, 2004 as age 76, which are odd, because he always looked to be 76. (DOB: 6/27/27) His death reminded me of the following story.
Some people have been a bit offended that the actor, Lee Marvin, is buried in a grave alongside 3 and 4 star generals at Arlington National Cemetery. His marker gives his name, rank (PVT) and service (USMC). Nothing else. Here's a guy who was only a famous movie star who served his time, why the heck does he rate burial with these guys? Well, following is the amazing answer:
I always liked Lee Marvin, but didn't know the extent of his Corps experiences.
In a time when many Hollywood stars served their country in the armed forces often in rear echelon posts where they were carefully protected, only to be trotted out to perform for the cameras in war bond promotions,
Lee Marvin was a genuine hero. He won the Navy Cross at Iwo Jima there is only one higher naval award... the Medal of Honor if that is a surprising comment on the true character of the man, he credits his sergeant with an even greater show of bravery.
Dialog from "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson": His guest was Lee Marvin Johnny said, "Lee, I'll bet a lot of people are unaware that you were a Marine in the initial landing at Iwo Jima ...and that during the course of that action you earned the Navy Cross and were (continued top of next column) |
severely wounded.""Yeah, yeah... I got shot square in the bottom and they gave me the Cross for securing a hot spot about halfway up Suribachi. Bad thing about getting shot up on a mountain is guys getting' shot hauling you down. But Johnny, at Iwo I served under the bravest man I ever knew... We both got the cross the same day, but what he did for his Cross made mine look cheap in comparison. That dumb guy actually stood up on Red beach and directed his troops to move forward and get the hell off the beach. Bullets flying by, with mortar rounds landing everywhere and he stood there as the main target of gunfire so that he could get his men to safety. He did this on more than one occasion because his men's safety was more important than his own life.
That Sergeant and I have been lifelong friends. When they brought me off Suribachi we passed the Sergeant and he lit a smoke and passed it to me, lying on my belly on the litter and said, where'd they get you Lee?' Well Bob.. if you make it home before me, tell Mom to sell the outhouse!"
Johnny, I'm not lying, Sergeant Keeshan was the bravest man I ever knew.
The Sergeant's name is Bob Keeshan. You and the world know him as Captain Kangaroo."
On another note, there was this wimpy little man (who just passed away) on PBS, gentle and quiet. Mr. Rogers is another of those you would least suspect of being anything but what he now portrays to our youth. But Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Navy Seal, combat-proven in Vietnam with over twenty-five confirmed kills to his name. He wore a long-sleeved sweater on TV, to cover the many tattoos on his forearm and biceps. He was a master in small arms and hand-to-hand combat, able to disarm or kill in a heartbeat.
After the war Mr. Rogers became an ordained Presbyterian minister and therefore a pacifist. Vowing to never harm another human and also dedicating the rest of his life to trying to help lead children on the right path in life. He hid away the tattoos and his past life and won our hearts with his quiet wit and charm.
America's real heroes don't flaunt what they did; they quietly go about their day-to-day lives, doing what they do best They earned our respect and the freedoms that we all enjoy.
Look around and see if you can find one of those heroes in your midst.
Often, they are the ones you'd least suspect, but would most like to have on your side if anything ever happened
Take the time to thank anyone that has fought for our freedom. With encouragement they could be the next Captain Kangaroo or Mr.Rogers
